Fast & Confused
About
Fast and Confused is a quirky racing game where you race against time while following bizarre navigation instructions from your newly updated car navigation system. Some directions are straightforward, but when it tells you to do the opposite of "don't go right," things can get truly confusing.
Development
This game was created in just one week for the Brackeys Game Jam, primarily by me. A significant amount of time went into developing the car physics and the level generation algorithm.
The game currently supports far more than what is showcased. The map isn’t restricted to a grid, and any type of road crossing is possible. Unfortunately, time constraints meant I could only focus on the core ideas.
I also composed both music tracks in almost a single take, jamming on my keyboard.

I’ve always had trouble telling left from right, so this game was pure torture for me. The concept is great, and thankfully it’s just as funny as it is frustrating, so I never felt discouraged.
A few thoughts:
This is absolutely worth expanding. Dynamic obstacles like pedestrians would be a hilarious touch. And a multiplayer mode where one player gives instructions while the other drives.
Thanks for awesome feedback!
Hilarious and fun. However, the "out of energy" sometimes appears when you have already made the correct turn. Either it takes too long to "trigger" that you've gone the right way (or too far past the intersection), or the meter for running out of energy says you have more energy then you do.
Yes. The trigger is a little bit further away and also the energy meter shows zero when there is a bit of bar visible. Will tweak that when the jam is over.
hopefully you turn this into an indie game with voice prompts, this is fun and wish i could use a controller too
Love it! Simple and fun
