OCDungeon
About the Game
This is a retro pixel-art first-person shooter with a surreal twist.
You play as a demon suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder. Your compulsion is simple, absolute, and unavoidable: whenever you see a sink, you must wash your hands.
The game enforces this obsession mechanically. When a sink enters your view, your movement and field of view are constrained, forcing your attention toward it. Resistance is not an option—only compliance.
Enemies & Themes
The enemies you face are manifestations inspired by OCD-related anxieties and patterns rather than traditional monsters:
-
Locks that demand order and completion
-
Tetris-like screens with blocked or incomplete spaces
-
Stacks of fragile cups, threatening collapse if disturbed
Combat is fast and chaotic, contrasting with the rigid, compulsive rules imposed on the player.
Style & Origins
-
Low-resolution pixel art inspired by classic 90s shooters
-
Intentionally rough, experimental design, created under extreme time pressure
-
Developed in 48 hours during Global Game Jam 2016
This game is not a realistic depiction of OCD, but a mechanical metaphor—using gameplay constraints to explore loss of control, fixation, and forced behavior in an abstract, exaggerated way.
What to Expect
-
Short, intense gameplay
-
Unusual mechanics that override player agency
-
Retro visuals and sound
If you enjoy experimental jam games, retro FPS aesthetics, or mechanics that challenge player expectations, this one is for you.
